“Everything ends this way in France - everything. Weddings, christenings, duels, burials, swindlings, diplomatic affairs - everything is a pretext for a good dinner.”
Jean Anouilh

Nowhere in the world is the difference between “living to work” and “working to live” clearer than in France. We may mock their strikes, their unemployment and posturing politicians, but we can’t get enough of their lifestyle - the food, the wine and even the trains.

Having spent hundreds of years trying to conquer it, with varying degrees of success, the British have now decided on a new tactic. We’re just going to buy it.

In the end, there it’s one of the best places in Europe for a holiday. In fact, let’s not kid ourselves, we’d like to live there.

We’ve got properties across France, from familiar areas like the Dordogne and Cote d’Azur, up through Dijon and the Breton Coast.
